Sisterhood for Peace, a project of My Sister’s Keeper (MSK), supports the growth of the global network of Sudanese women working across traditional boundaries of race, religion, ethnicity and geography to promote peace in all of Sudan. In partnership with sisters from the Diaspora in the Sisterhood for Peace network, MSK will be offering a training on Peace-building styles and skills for diverse Sudanese women, inside Sudan, who are active in peace-building work and interested in working collaboratively with others to build a regional, national and global movement for peace.

Purpose of the training

This training is targeted for women who are affiliated with grassroots organizations that are actively engaged in peace-building initiatives.  The training will bring together a diverse group of Sudanese women from all 26 states of Sudan to build and/or enhance leadership skills that will strengthen the capacity of their organization and support women in their constituent groups within their region. The training will cover facilitative leadership, communication and trust, conflict prevention, conflict management and resolution, and post-conflict peace-building skills.  Participants will also find opportunity of collaborations with other organizations inside the Sudan and in the Diaspora.

At the training’s conclusion, participants should be able to:

  •  Define peace-building and identify appropriate role for their organization/s.
